To Whom It May Concern: Abundant Life Inc is working to make a difference in the lives of our families, friends and communities. On September 18, 2010 we are sponsoring a “Men’s Career Day” to be held at Harvest Temple Church of God, 6608 Wilkins Place, Forestville, Maryland 20747. We have put together a diverse group of people to teach and encourage the men of our communities to better themselves and thereby better the lives of their families. The Bureau of Labor Statistics in their June 2010 news release stated that the unemployment rate in the state of Maryland is at 7.1%, yet the unemployment rate in Maryland Counties range from 5.5% to as high as 11%. The national unemployment rate forecasted for blacks for the 3rd quarter, reported by the Washington Post January 15, 2010, is 11.3%. While the percentage rate for black men over the age of 20 differ depending on who does the statistics, the average unemployment rate is at 17.4%! According to ABOUT.COM “black men live 7.1 years less than other racial groups." They have higher death rates than women for all leading causes of death.” Black men suffer far worse health than any other racial group in America.” In these economically challenging times it’s crucial to understand how to manage your finances.
